The photos below are of the same band, people, kids, ect. as the photos above. We just thought we'd be creative and change our band name a few times. With the acception of Magnum View when we were playing with Matt Mason on bass.
- 20030515 - Incredible Revs
- 20040719 - Magnum View practice
- 20040806 - Magnum Vieux
Private Selection got their start in May of 1999. Anthony Ceilia and Dreux Zimmer played Bass and Drums for the Middle School Jazz Band and thought of the idea of having their very own rock band. All they needed was a singer and guitarist. Anthony looked no further than his 7th period woodshop class where he found that guy in Nate Siggard. The band that was known as “Public Offenders” for one weeks time started playing right away. Mike Sheflo joined for a few days but soon left to persure other projects.
Private Selection found their name in a Ralphs supermarket where the band was buying a Ralph's brand soda (Private Selection). Frustrated with the search for a new band name, Dreux said “fuck it, lets just name the band “Private Selection!”‘ The name stuck. PS also had a stint with guitarist Tracy Bryant (Tracy is currently in the band “Emmitt Kelly” with Dreux) but Tracy left soon after the first recording session. After playing a years worth of shows and finishing their first year of High School, the band was heading into their second summer and was eager to find another band member to play lead guitar. Enter Frank Leon.
With Anthony and Nate eager to get behind the wheel, they first had to attend Driving School. Frank too, eager to drive, was atending the same class. Frank and his friend Chris recognized the two band members and started conversing. With the guys all finding out they had common interests in music, Anthony and Nate invited Frank and his friend Chris over to a PS rehearsal. The band fell in love with Frank's style and personality as well as playing so they asked him to bring a guitar next time he came over. He fit in perfectly. PS had a new sound (Chris went on to play in Enough Said with John Kourounis).
Private Selection roared through the southland playing show after show after show, almost every weekend. After a while, it got to be too much and PS took some time off to settle differences. Frank, Anthony and Dreux continued to play during the summer of 2001. That next school year, Private Selection came back to play. Doing what they did best. They released their first full length cd called “It's for you.” They again played shows weekly and had the time of their lives living like rock stars the High School way. With another falling out at the end of their Junior year. They all took some time off. But hopped back on that train again their Senior year of High School. This time as the Incredible Revs. New writing. More Rock. Less Pop. Their Senior year was the slowest for the band with school ending, knowing that Anthony was to leave to San Diego for college. They played their last show in their home town of Agoura at the Canyon Club.
With Anthony gone and the rest of the guys wondering what the fuck to do. They waited 6 months before a new band was started. This time Frank took the mic, and Nate finally got to rock his head off. With most bands all about live performances and partying. This band was all about practicing while partying. And so they did. Numerous times a week. Enter Magnum Vieux. Who was the new Bass player you ask? Matt Mason, the prodigal son of Mike Mason (Matt currently plays bass in Emmitt Kelly with Dreux and Tracy). Now, Magnum Vieux did make appearences at live gigs, but they were more into the drinking/rehearsing scene, and flirting with possible recording dates. With Dreux leaving for the Navy (dip shit), the other members seemed to lose more and more interest after he had left. RIP Magnum Vieux.
Currently, none of the members are dead. Frank is in Human Resources and still plays, Anthony is about to start college in Irvine, plays for his church and writes his own acoustic songs, Nate currently lives in Mammoth and is moving to San Diego to start a band this fall, and Dreux is stationed in San Diego at Miramar MCAS and is a F-18 Hornet Plane Captain for the Marine Corps and plays Drums in, “Emmitt Kelly“.
